Our Plan

Having relocated to new and larger offices in 2023, we have set ourselves the ambitious target of doubling our headcount by late 2024 / early 2025, and therefore need the very best talent to help us achieve this goal and amplify what we do best: Matching unique individuals to unique opportunities and cementing our reputation as a leading player in the international executive recruitment landscape.

Getting culture right isn’t easy, it can be the difference between an engaged and an actively disengaged employee. But by basing our culture on our values, and embracing the diversity and uniqueness of everyone’s contribution, we’ve managed to create a place where people truly want to work.

Ongoing Training & Development

We have grown our business from humble beginnings in 2003 to what it is today with a hiring strategy that welcomes industry experience but by no means sets it as a prerequisite. As such, people joining our business range in backgrounds from ambitious graduates through to sales professionals and seasoned recruiters. All clearly require an onboarding and development program that is not only ongoing and intensive but also is tailored to those individuals’ backgrounds, strengths, weaknesses and learning preferences. We are passionate and committed to this process and have built an environment where learning never ends.

Opportunities to Progress

With expansion plans as ambitious as ours, we understand that this cannot be achieved solely by hiring and/or developing high performing recruiters. We also need leaders: Individuals motivated not only by high earning potential but also the desire to form and build their own teams and divisions in our business, thereby providing a sustainable framework for further expansion and prosperity. Not everyone is motivated to lead however, and there are ample opportunities to take different routes of advancement through our business, in business development, key account management or sector specialism to name a few. Simply put, you won’t be told what to want!

Uncapped Earning Potential

Here at Verrus we operate a straightforward and highly lucrative commission structure that is uncapped in its scope, thereby guaranteeing no ceiling to your overall earning potential. Furthermore, we conduct regular performance appraisals that inform salary reviews and incremental basic salary increases that are among the most competitive in the sector.

Fabulous Working Environment

Regularly voted as one of the UK’s favourite cities to live and work, Leeds is a vibrant and dynamic city and we are very lucky to be based right in the heart of it. Occupying one of the most palatial office spaces in the city affords us excellent and immediate access to the city’s public transport networks, retail, fitness, hospitality and entertainment facilities. Employees who wish to run or cycle to work also have access to modern shower facilities and secure lockers.

Rapid Selection Process

We understand better than anyone that a protracted recruitment process benefits no one, so we try to make our internal selection procedures thorough but efficient. We won’t request four interviews, or laborious selection days. We are not NASA! But we know what we’re doing, and we know what we’re looking for, so you can expect a selection process that extends no more than 7 days from initial discussion to job offer or decline.

Work Life Balance

If the Covid pandemic taught us anything it’s that businesses need not necessarily operate on a strict 9 to 5, Monday to Friday office-based model to be successful. As such, we are able to offer hybrid working practices to suit everyone’s lifestyle and non-work or family demands. On the whole this translates as three days in the office and two working from home (post onboarding). We understand that people work to live, not the other way round, so we’re happy to tailor a work-life balance for every individual in our organization.

Social Events & Incentive Based Trips

We’re a very sociable bunch and we understand that the key to building strong teams is sometimes to do so out of the office.   So we enjoy at least one social event per quarter, in addition to regular team events, get-togethers and trips (UK and overseas!) in recognition of outstanding achievement and/or the meeting of landmark billing objectives, etc. We fully believe in the work hard play hard culture and we rather excel in this area. We also want to tailor incentives based on people’s’ actual interests, not just what we think they’ll like, so if a golf day or spa weekend doesn’t do it for you then let us know what will!
