Experienced environmental professional required to ensure that thorough environmental monitoring, compliance, and management plans are in place for our client’s flagship lithium mining project.

The Position:

The appointed Environmental Manager will manage all environmental monitoring and compliance aspects of the project, initially encompassing exploration, early construction, and commissioning, but expanding to involve the full operational mine site once permitting is approved and construction and commissioning begins.

Reporting to the environmental studies team and supporting environmental base line characterization and impact assessments, the successful candidate will manage project, operational and corporate stakeholders, using environmental compliance expertise to ensure the success of the project.

The Candidate:

Applicants will be expected to demonstrate:

  • A minimum bachelor’s degree in an appropriate environmental profession (environmental engineering, environmental sciences, water resources, hydrology, geochemistry, etc.).
  • At least ten years’ experience in managing environmental monitoring and compliance for medium to large scale mining operations.
  • Strong project and technical acumen with the ability to influence across different functions.
  • The ability to think strategically, distil complexity and assess technical risk.
