The successful candidate will identify and pursue new business opportunities, develop strategic partnerships, drive revenue growth and monitor market trends and competitive landscape within the drilling chemicals and petrochemicals sector.

The Position:

The appointed Business Development Manager will:

  • Conduct market research to identify potential customers, market trends, and competitive landscapes.
  • Develop and implement strategies to target new clients and expand the customer base.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of potential business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop effective strategies for lead generation.
  • Identify and establish strategic partnerships with key industry players, including chemical manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers.
  • Negotiate and close partnership agreements to enhance product offering and market research.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of partnership initiatives.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Conduct sales presentations and product demonstrations to prospective clients.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop competitive pricing strategies and proposals.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics and regulatory changes affecting the chemical sector.
  • Monitor competitor activities and adjust business strategies accordingly.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management regarding market opportunities and potential risks.
  • Work closely with the product development team to identify market needs and opportunities for new product development.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products and services.
  • Provide feedback and input to the marketing team regarding promotional materials, campaigns, and market positioning.

The Candidate:

Applicants will be expected to demonstrate:

  • At least eight years’ sales / business development experience in the chemicals industry.
  • A minimum bachelor’s degree in chemistry or chemical engineering,
  • Proven expertise in market analysis, strategy development, and client management
  • A keen understanding of the technical and regulatory aspects of the chemicals industry.
  • Specific technical/applications knowledge to include drilling fluids, emulsifiers, brines, acidizing fluids, fracturing fluids, gelling agents, corrosion inhibitors, scale inhibitors, surfactants, polymers, biocides and/or antifoam agents.
