Our Client is a lower middle market private equity firm based in New York City that makes both minority growth and control investments in partnership with high-quality executives through its “Executive-First” investment strategy.

The firm invests in companies with EBITDA ranging from $3 million to $20 million across a broad range of industries (including B2B, Industrials, Niche Manufacturing, Healthcare and more) with a particular focus on businesses with repeat or recurring revenues. They invest a committed capital fund, comprised of top-tier institutional and sophisticated private investors.

What this Role Requires

  • Sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities
  • Conducting due diligence of potential investment opportunities
  • Leading deal execution including managing 3rd party service providers and taking a leadership role in the documentation process
  • Portfolio monitoring
  • Developing trusted relationships and working with management
  • Evaluating add-on opportunities
  • Managing and training the firms junior employees
  • Sourcing and evaluating prospective CEOs

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum of four-five years with a private equity firm
  • Bachelor’s degree from a top tier university
  • Strong work ethic and initiative – self starter
  • Meaningful experience executing closed platform transactions and working with portfolio companies and starting to lead deals
  • Experience with proactive investment thesis development a plus
  • High level of intellectual curiosity and passion for growth within the firm
  • Ability to multitask and work with multiple people
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • High level of maturity
  • Strong financial modeling, accounting and due diligence skills
  • Ability to analyze a wide variety of different business models
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong communicator internally as well as with advisors, management teams and financing sources
  • Experience managing and training junior staff a plus
