    Senior refractory management opportunity focused upon key UK steel plants.

    The Position:

    Reporting to the UK Sales Director, the Site Service Engineer will be responsible for:

    • Independently managing site activities at steel plants, from receiving of refractory materials and installation through to performance review (post campaign) and root cause analysis of impaired performance
    • Liaising with steel plant personnel at various levels
    • Trouble shooting and managing sites during any unforeseen breakdowns
    • Implementing technical activities to meet company targets for retention, growth and profitability
    • Forecasting failures of refractory lining with regular observation and implementing corrective action
    • Inspecting ladle / EAF builds and reviewing service ladle / EAF performance
    • Monitoring and reporting on competitors’ performance and activities

    The Candidate:

    Applicants will be expected to show:

    • A minimum of five years’ working experience in refractory management
    • Proven site-based experience for reputable refractory or steelmaking companies
    • The ability to interact with clients and develop relationships independently
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • First class technical trouble shooting skills and attention to detail
