QHSE Manager

    Materials Testing

    $45,000 – $55,000 (Tax Free) + Full Package including Housing & Transportation

    Proven senior QHSE professional required to develop, implement and maintain our client’s Quality, Health, Safety and Environment management system, providing guidance to the organization and supporting the QA process from pre-qualification and tender requests to the project and operational QHSE plans.

    The Position:

    Reporting to the General Manager and supporting the project management team, staff and company engineers, the appointed QHSE Manager will assume responsibility for:

    • Developing an annual Corporate Audit Program
    • Reviewing data from audits, accident investigations, defect reports and customer complaints to identify adverse trends and implement preventive actions
    • Acting as custodian of the documents and records of the quality, health safety and environment division
    • Assisting in the training and implementation of the system procedures
    • Periodic monitoring of the Quality Management system
    • Maintaining QHSE Awareness among personnel and ensuring that the procedures and instructions are followed
    • Training new personnel on the QHSE Management System and related standards
    • Conducting statistical analyses related to quality, health safety and environment indicators
    • Reviewing all data obtained during all Quality Assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures
    • Monitoring changes to legislation and assessing their impact on the business
    • Ensuring that the legal requirements related to safety of personnel and equipment, environmental regulations and any other prevailing law affecting the company process control are properly fulfilled
    • Assisting in the maintenance of the Laboratory Information Management System
    • Monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations and developing measures to assure personnel and environment safety

    The Candidate:

    Applicants will be expected to demonstrate:

    • A minimum bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or science discipline
    • A minimum of ten years’ experience with Quality Management Systems
    • Strong knowledge of materials testing for construction projects
    • Experience of ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 17020, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and other Management System Standards
    • Certification as lead auditor/assessor to any ISO Standards (eg ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 14001, ISO/IEC 17025)
    • Professional OHS Qualification by Examination (NEBOSH IGC / NGC, IOSH Managing & Working Safely / OSHA 30 hours)
    • Extensive understanding of quality assurance, health and safety, sustainable & environmental management, and security management for a laboratory or site inspection body
    • The ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
    • Aptitude in word processing, Spreadsheets, Internet software, E-mail, Inventory, Database software
    • Fluent verbal (and accomplished written) communication skills in English and Arabic
