The successful candidate will build a portfolio of suppliers to achieve growth across multiple categories. You will also work closely with Sales & Marketing and Production to build sales strategies using your shared knowledge of current trends for new and existing customers that will contribute to driving sustainable growth.

The Company:

North Yorkshire based supplier of PPE, personalised uniforms and workwear (In-house) and going through an exciting scale-up to develop additional divisions (inc. Cleaning & Hygiene/Print & Promotional/Stationery/Etc.). Operating from an impressive facility in North Yorkshire and with long term plans to develop regional bases across the UK, there is scope for significant growth over the coming years. In addition, there will be a new brand launch within a month’s time. The company have identified an opportunity for Purchasing Manager to join their exciting, rapidly expanding team.


  • Develop and administer an efficient purchasing supply chain and monitor inventories for all products
  • Audit and manage off site production facilities
  • Liaise with the in-house production manager to decide when to outsource production
  • Maintain relationships, contracts and monitor performance of suppliers through KPI’s
  • Undertake regular negotiations with Suppliers to ensure lowest cost is maintained
  • The ability to identify, cost and follow through on new ideas which helps the whole business
  • Collaborate with Sales & Marketing team and production team
  • Managing and supporting with regular and adhoc project work
  • Understand all legislation and required accreditations to purchase and supply the goods being procured
  • Use market intelligence to identify opportunities within new and existing customer base
  • Ensure that sourced products have security for length of committed volume
  • Develop KPI’s to monitor profit margins/cost of goods for in house and outsourced production
  • Work closely with finance to ensure invoices are checked & verified before payment to suppliers
  • Willing to travel overseas as necessary


  • Strong stakeholder management
  • Experience on supplier engagement/negotiation
  • Communication skills and a good grasp of English are essential
  • Ability to work autonomously or as a team; and work proactively
  • Good personal organisation skills and time keeping
  • Ability to build good working relationships with customers and the wider team
  • Full driving licence
  • Valid passport
