    Based from our client’s Buckinghamshire headquarters but involving travel to clients and projects throughout the UK (two to three days a week,) the appointed Project Manager/Engineer will control concurrent projects from order placement to final account, ensuring optimum profits are achieved from each contract.

    The Position:

    Reporting to the Contracts Director, the successful candidate will form part of a small and multi-disciplined team involved with:

    • Controlling projects valuing between £10,000 and £2,000,000
    • Checking estimates prior to accepting orders and agreeing order conditions
    • Compiling contract-specific risk assessments and method statements
    • Compiling programmes of work, if required
    • Ensuring accurate working drawings are compiled and dispatched to clients
    • Ordering all materials and arranging transportation of materials to site
    • Negotiating and placing subcontract orders with installers
    • Supervising sub-contractors during contracts
    • Visiting sites during installations
    • Dealing with contract variations and monitoring contract costs
    • Compiling applications for payment and ensuring their dispatch is on time in line with the contract requirements
    • Agreeing final accounts with clients and sub-contractors

    The Candidate:

    Applicants will be expected to demonstrate:

    • A minimum of three years’ project management experience for a mechanical building services, pipework, buried utilities, HVAC, groundworks and/or civil works contractor
    • Impeccable organisational skills to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Relevant qualifications including health & safety, SSMTS, IOSH
    • Familiarity with producing risk assessments and method statements
    • Experience of major forms of contract such as JCT and NEC
    • The ability to effectively liaise with contract engineers, sub-contractors and suppliers to control all the financial elements of the projects, from tender stage to final completion
    • Knowledge of preparing valuations, priced variations and final accounts
