Project Manager

    A specialist supplier of intelligent transport systems is presently looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager for its real time passenger information systems. This is a varied role that would suit someone with proven project management skills in a technical, engineering or IT environment.

    The Position:

    Working on a variety of projects for multiple customers across the UK, the successful candidate will be required to fully understand customers’ requirements and effectively communicate these to the company’s software development team in West Sussex and its field-based engineers across the UK.  This will involve:

    • Creating and maintaining effective project plans
    • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships and communication with all stakeholders
    • Implementing and maintaining effective change control and risk management processes
    • Monitoring and controlling project budgets
    • Producing regular and comprehensive project reports for internal and external stakeholders
    • Supporting tenders and building business cases
    • Managing the whole project lifecycle
    • Providing post-delivery support such as warranty management

    The Candidate:

    Applicants will be expected to demonstrate:

    • Minimum Prince2 Practitioner certification
    • Minimum HNC (or equivalent) in an engineering or IT discipline
    • At least three year’s project management experience
    • Experience of managing teams of engineers, developers and consultants
    • (Ideally) Experience of software development lifecycles
    • Experience of both waterfall and agile environments
    • Familiarity with the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, BitBucket)
    • Competence in the use of Microsoft Project or similar Project Management tools
    • Experience of managing the entire project lifecycle
    • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
    • Flexibility to travel around the UK when required and occasionally abroad
    • A methodical and systematic approach to problem solving and documenting output
