    A leading marketing communications provider is presently seeking a proven operations leader to plan, coordinate and control manufacturing processes so that products are delivered on time and within budget.

    The Position:

    The appointed Production Operations Manager will:

    • Ensure that goods and services are produced safely, cost-effectively, on time and to the required quality standards
    • Manage both human and material resources within your reporting area
    • Oversee the production process, coordinating all production activities and operations
    • Carry out pre-production planning/scheduling and production control/supervision
    • Make sure that all resources such as paper, ink etc are ordered and that stock levels remain adequate
    • Undertake full responsibility for all operational equipment, its maintenance and purchase
    • Work with the Operations Director to optimise cost effectiveness by estimating costs and negotiating budgets with both managers and suppliers
    • Monitor the production processes and adjust schedules as needed
    • Monitor product standards and implement quality control programmes
    • Liaise with the different departments to ensure the smooth management of projects and workloads
    • Ensure that all health and safety guidelines are followed, managed and risk assessment reports completed on a quarterly basis
    • Ensure full adherence to ISO and internal quality management framework
    • Collate and analyse data, putting together production reports for monthly meetings
    • Ensure all your teams are working effectively and efficiently through flexible shift patterns, upskilling and deployment of roles

    The Candidate:

    Applicants will be expected to demonstrate:

    • First class leadership, planning, scheduling and organisation skills
    • Proven man management experience in a print production / distribution environment (large format, digital, litho, mailing, bindery)
    • An understanding of the Tharstern MI system and its data reporting capabilities
    • The ability to act decisively and solve staff or equipment-related problems
    • A strong capacity to grasp complex concepts easily
    • A good standard of ICT literacy to deal with various technologies and programmes
    • Continuous attention to detail to ensure high levels of quality
    • The ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with your team, co-managers and supplier partners
    • Strong negotiation skills for getting materials within budget at the right time
    • The ability to work effectively in an occasionally pressurised environment
    • The ability to motivate others to meet deadlines and standards
    • A logical and systematic approach to work projects and operational frameworks
    • A firm grasp of operational compliance in relation to risk management, health & safety, ISO accreditations, GDPR compliance, NCR and internal Quality Management Systems
