This role will report into the Managing Director and include day to day management of all in-house production, maintaining an effective and efficient production operation against daily and weekly targets and production plans.

The Company:

A North Yorkshire based supplier of PPE, personalised uniforms and workwear (In-house) and going through an exciting scale-up to develop additional divisions (inc. Cleaning & Hygiene/Print & Promotional/Stationery/Etc.). Operating from an impressive facility in North Yorkshire and with long term plans to develop regional bases across the UK, there is scope for significant growth over the coming years. In addition, there will be a new brand launch within a month’s time. The company have identified an opportunity for Production Manager to join their exciting, rapidly expanding team.


  • To ensure that Planning is at the forefront of all resource and operational activities with a weekly production plan produced and monitored.
  • To ensure that the right resources are in the right place at the right time to deliver maximum efficiency within the operation.
  • To ensure accurate information is communicated in a timely and effective manner across all areas of the business. Ensure KPI’s are tracked and shared within the team and the wider business as required.
  • Liaise with the purchasing manager to decide when outsourcing of production is required.
  • Ensure quality and health & safety standards are achieved and maintained.
  • Ensure that production Teams are trained in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, Health & Safety Procedures and Product Specifications.
  • Ensure maintenance of all machines and equipment is undertaken as per the manufacturers recommendation and these are logged accordingly in a suitable filing system.
  • Ensure production supplies (ink, Vinyl, thread, bags, tags etc) are in good supply and counted regularly so we can fulfil orders.
  • Plan/co-ordinate/supervise rotas and shift patterns for all production employees.
  • Promote a culture of cleanliness within the production facilities, utilising staff downtime to cover cleaning operations efficiently and effectively.
  • Work closely with Sales & Marketing, purchasing and warehouse to ensure excellent communication is maintained for customer feedback. 


  • Communication skills and a good grasp of English are essential
  • Ability to work autonomously or as a team; and work proactively
  • Good personal organisation skills and time keeping
  • Confident speaking to customers up to director level and to colleagues
  • Willingness to take calls and answer ad hoc queries at weekends
  • Ability to build good working relationships with customers and the wider team
  • Full driving licence
