A multi-office, multi-state defense litigation firm is looking for a defense litigation associate, preferably with experience in product liability and NY labor law.

The Position:

This fantastic opportunity offers the right candidate the opportunity to work with internationally recognized partners on complex and challenging legal issues. The appointed Product Liability Associate will assume responsibility for:

  • Handling assigned caseload, both independently and with supervision, commensurate with experience
  • Drafting of pleadings, motions, and written discovery
  • Depositions, court appearances and motion practice, commensurate with experience
  • Communicating with clients and providing recommendations
  • Performing extensive research
  • Maintaining an excellent relationship with clients, including complying with all client guidelines
  • Ensuring all internal and external deadlines are met

The Candidate:

Applicants will be expected to demonstrate:

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in defense litigation, with at least one year specifically in product liability
  • (Ideally) experience in NY labor law and/or construction defects
  • A positive and ‘team player’ attitude
  • High levels of motivation, flexibility, initiative, and accountability
  • The ability to exercise good judgement in a variety of situations
  • Strong and professional communication skills
  • A friendly and outgoing nature
  • Admission to the New York bar
