Global Indirect Procurement Specialist

    To support its ongoing growth plans, our client is looking for a proven indirect procurement professional to join its corporate group in Belgium and assume responsibility for all indirect purchase activities on a global basis.

    The Position:

    Reporting to the CFO of the company, the successful candidate will assume responsibility for:

    • Developing, leading and executing regional and global supply strategies for indirect materials and services
    • Developing and managing annual cost savings, working capital improvement, budget and supplier performance targets
    • Leading cross-functional supplier qualification and sourcing activities, ensuring the engagement of and buy-in from key stakeholders
    • Leading cross-functional efforts to identify and implement cost reduction opportunities including renegotiation of more competitive contracts, demand management, globalization of supply and the reduction of supply complexity
    • Working closely with Counsel and stakeholders to develop and execute new contracts or improve existing contracts all of which shall include performance metrics, preferred pay terms etc
    • Developing procedures and guidelines including review processes for the indirect procurement area
    • Presenting the status of cost reduction or working capital efforts, budget performance, strategic projects or category strategies to executives and stakeholders
    • Improving working capital performance by negotiating extended pay terms

    The Candidate:

    Ideally based near or relocatable (company prepared to assist) to the Brussels region, applicants will be expected to demonstrate:

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Finance or similar
    • (Ideally) CIPS, CPM, CPSM or another procurement certification
    • A minimum of eight years’ global indirect procurement experience
    • Strong proficiency in sourcing initiatives including developing and presenting strategy, aligning stakeholders, developing RFPs, conducting analysis, presenting results, negotiating, contracting, and implementing results
    • Experience of developing and negotiating indirect related contracts
    • Excellent analytical and spend management skills
    • The ability to produce accurate, professional and error-free analysis in a timely manner
    • Outstanding project management skills and an ability to prioritize projects and multi-task to meet deadlines and business needs
    • Professional communication skills in English and, ideally, another European language
    • Excellent presentation skills up to executive level
    • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of the business and environment
    • Exceptional negotiation skills
