Our client’s power services team is presently looking to appoint a proven Distribution Designer.
The Position:
The appointed Distribution Designer will design and plan the construction of overhead and underground power distribution facilities using client-provided engineering software. Further responsibilities will be to:
- Create cost estimates.
- Gather information from various sources.
- Determine fuse size and coordination.
- Apply client standards.
- Create sketches and estimates for tree trimming and right-of-way requirements.
The Candidate:
Applicants will need to demonstrate:
- A construction or engineering degree qualification or at least 4 years’ relevant experience
- Proficiency in using various computer software packages.
- Knowledge of utility design and construction standards for electric overhead and underground
- Self-motivation, results-orientation, and ability to work under pressure.
- A basic understanding of electric distribution equipment and materials
- Knowledge of MicroStation, AutoCAD, O-Calc, DDS, NIS, or GIS
