Ambitious and energetic Business Development Manager required to increase our client’s share of the UK digital signage sector (software, hardware and maintenance.)
The Position:
The appointed Business Development Manager will drive sustainable financial growth within a new service for the company: Digital solutions. This is to coincide with maintaining the core signage manufacturing features of the business, thereby feeding the factory and its departments. Key responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining key existing customer relationships while expanding and developing new ones
- Developing a growth strategy for the digital marketplace in line with the company’s core business
- Working with the senior team to move the direction of the business forward
- Offering customers comprehensive knowledge on digital hardware and software whilst keeping this knowledge up to date so that the company remains at the forefront
- Analyzing the existing product/service offering and identifying innovations in line with customer needs
- Driving digital marketing/drawing packages aimed at promoting this service offering
- Arranging business meetings with prospective clients in new and existing markets with a view to building long-term relationships
- Recruiting when/where necessary to establish and expand the digital department
The Product / Solution:
- Software (CMS platform, customer analytics, kiosk ordering, receipts, voice recognition, customer ordering)
- Hardware (Media players, cabling, internal and external screens, temperature control units, screen enclosures & bracketry)
- Service (Maintenance Engineers, internal training, hardware performance monitoring etc)
The Candidate:
Applicants will be expected to demonstrate:
- Prior working experience as a business development manager or sales executive
- A proven sales track record involving the attainment of KPI, revenue and margin targets
- Experience in digital technology and content management
- Strong IT knowledge (Cat5 cabling, Wi-Fi, security etc)
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software
- Strong market knowledge (internal & external screen enclosures, digital animated content, screen maintenance, kiosk ordering, customer insights, footfall data analytics)
- First class communication and negotiation skills
- The ability to build rapport and develop profitable customer relationships
- Solid time management, prioritization and planning skills
The Company:
A privately owned business with over eight decades in the supply of signage services to a host of high-profile world brands, our client operates under four divisional banners: design, corporate signage, digital signage and aftersales maintenance care. The digital signage division has been in its infancy for the past 3 or 4 years but the company is now in a position to further tap into this market, having recently provided digital drive thru units for a leading fast-food brand. The next step in this evolution will be the provision not only of said software and hardware but the accompanying digital content also.
