    A varied role in our client’s design department, the successful candidate will complete bespoke AutoCAD drawings of residential and commercial fire sprinkler systems and work on the LPCB supervision process for the company’s projects.

    The Position:

    The appointed Design Engineer will be responsible for:

    • Designing residential and commercial automatic fire sprinkler systems
    • Working on a mix of commercial and residential projects including new build and retrofits
    • Calculating pre-calculated and FHC calculations on projects
    • Attending site meetings, carrying out site surveys and site inspections
    • Working on the LPCB Supervision process, including uploading and answering comments
    • Liaising closely with the sales, design and projects teams

    The Candidate:

    Applicants will be expected to demonstrate:

    • A good understanding of LPC rules for automatic sprinkler installation in residential and commercial premises
    • Proficiency in the use of 2D AutoCAD
    • LPCB Basic and Intermediate Competency qualifications
    • Familiarity with BS9251 & BSEN 12845
    • Knowledge of FHC Calculations
    • Strong IT skills including MS Outlook, Word and Excel
    • Excellent communication and organisation skills
    • Good attention to detail
    • A professional and customer-focussed manner, helpful and supportive to colleagues
