Customer Account Manager

    A global aerospace business is presently looking to appoint a technically qualified and commercially capable addition to the small sales team of its aircraft engine overhaul division in the west of Scotland.

    The Position:

    Reporting to the Global Account Director, the appointed Customer Account Manager will be the main interface, with customers in Europe, Middle East and Asia, satisfying their requirements and increasing business with both new and existing accounts. Based from the office but involving significant travel across these territories, the successful candidate will sell the company’s capability to repair and overhaul aircraft control systems.  This will also involve:

    • Facilitating engineering support for products, capabilities and competencies
    • Performing monthly and annual sales forecasts
    • Overseeing product and service warranties
    • Managing accounts receivable
    • Performing account reviews and participating in strategic account plans
    • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement activities
    • Establishing proposal pricing strategies and cost targets
    • Negotiating contracts, agreements, terms and conditions
    • Gathering and communicating market intelligence
    • Attending industry conferences and tradeshows

    The Candidate:

    Applicants will be expected to demonstrate:

    • A minimum HND or degree qualification, ideally in mechanical, electrical or aerospace engineering
    • At least four years’ sales or commercial experience in the aerospace or aviation aftermarket sector
    • Knowledge of electrical controls and prime mover principals/applications
    • The ability to work effectively within a team environment and across functional groups
    • A good level of computer literacy
    • The ability to negotiate commercial principles including pricing, volume discounts and payment terms
    • Good interpersonal skills to establish credibility with customers and colleagues
    • First class multi-tasking, decision making and problem solving skills
    • Solid verbal and written communication abilities
    • A basic understanding of business financial analysis
