Contracts Manager

    The successful candidate will act as key point of contact with clients for the entire project lifecycle of piling contracts and will have experience of all aspects of resource management, procurement of materials, liaison with internal teams and clients, technical and operational issues, commercial management and cost control of contracts.

    The Position:

    Based from our client’s Hampshire office but working on contracts across the South, Southeast and London, the appointed Contracts Manager will ensure that piling contracts are carried out in line with company procedures and that sites are managed safely and efficiently, keeping in contact with the client to ensure that budgetary and quality expectations are met.  This will involve:

    • Ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget
    • Focusing on safety, customer service, quality and productivity
    • Liaising with estimators to review tenders
    • Developing client relationships that will encourage repeat business
    • Managing subcontractors effectively
    • Coordinating and producing interim and/or final applications for payment in accordance with contractual deadlines
    • Maximising cash flow and ensuring timely resolution of claims and final accounts
    • Attending pre-start, progress and risk reduction meetings
    • Preparing the programmes and managing them
    • Commercial change management
    • Dealing with issues on site and with the client
    • Site supervision

    Requirements:

    • A minimum of three years’ contracts management experience for an established piling / foundations / ground engineering subcontractor
    • (Ideally) a recognised qualification in civil engineering or related
    • A strong technical understanding of underpinning and mini piling
    • Good IT literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • A full UK driving licence
    • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication/interpersonal skills
    • The ability to work in a proactive and inclusive manner to meet deadlines
