Chief Technology Officer

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for a highly experienced and capable individual within the Payments and Fintech Sector to be part of a team to build and scale a company.

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the appointed Chief Technology Officer will be responsible for establishing technical vision and leading all aspects of the company’s technology development. The CTO will play an integral role in the company’s strategic direction, product development and future growth, principally overseeing:

• Engineering and Application Management
• Systems and Infrastructure
• Strategic Partnerships, including Payments Schemes, Banks and Technology Partners
• IT Security and Resilience

The Candidate:

Applicants will be expected to demonstrate:

• A successful track record of building effective partnerships across organisational boundaries
• Experience of complicated multi-party and international technology projects
• Experience and deep understanding of critical availability and high-volume transactional industries
• Experience in payments an advantage
• Strong understanding of the regulatory impacts on technology
• Robust people management skills – comfortable with managing both highly technical and creative individuals
• Strong evidence of tactical and strategic management experience
• Highly effective Budget and Forecasting skills
• Ability to work under pressure and oversee multiple projects in parallel
• An understanding of project and programme management disciplines, including planning, critical path analysis, risk and issue management, change control etc
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to communicate effectively at all levels to technical and non-technical audiences including Clients and Shareholders
• Excellent influencing and negotiating skills
• Educated to degree level in Computer Science or similar discipline
