Canadian or US based expatriate senior mine engineering planner required to direct technical services at one of our client’s underground silver mines in Morocco (fly in fly out.)

The Position:

The appointed Chief Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating with geology teams on operations to reach ore zones
  • Developing rolling 3 month and 18 month mine plans
  • Working with the Technical Director in Canada to continue developing the LOM
  • Managing the surveyor team, the short-term planner and two junior mining engineers
  • Mine operation coordination (and reporting on)

The Candidate:

Applicants will be expected to demonstrate:

  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English and either French, Arabic or Amazigh
  • Proven experience of mining methods and engineering mine accesses
  • Prior experience of supervising the execution of the mine infrastructure development (two contractors on site currently)
  • Technical and management ability to plan all mine production and lead the technical team on site

A rapidly growing Canadian-based silver producer with a strong footprint in Morocco, our client is a listed corporation on the Toronto Stock Exchange and operates an underground silver mine located to the east of Agadir in Morocco. In addition to this polymetallic project, the company also operates a number of exploration properties located along the prolific Anti-Atlas belt that is host to two other mines.
