    Excellent purchasing opportunity with an international geotechnical contractor willing to support the successful candidate through CIPS chartership

    The Position:

    Based from our client’s UK headquarters in the West Midlands, the appointed Buyer will assume responsibility for:

    • Negotiating prices with external suppliers
    • Raising purchase order numbers for plant and materials
    • Ensuring that plant and materials are delivered to site on time
    • Creating Excel-based administration including correspondence registers, allocation sheet registers, and plant-on-site inventory
    • Managing team timesheets and sending to relevant departments on a weekly basis
    • Managing all site PPE and liaising with managers to create smooth on site delivery processes
    • Managing all training for employees to achieve maximum productivity for the company
    • Managing skip hire/exchange and all off-hires

    The Candidate:

    Applicants will be expected to demonstrate:

    • Proven purchasing/procurement experience for a construction (ideally civil engineering) contractor
    • Strong knowledge of heavyside building products and ground working plant
    • Good communication and organisational skills
    • Strong IT literacy and experience of using costing/ordering software
    • Outstanding negotiation skills
    • An aptitude for figures and the ability to manage a budget
    • The ability to prioritise tasks and manage your time to meet deadlines
