    An award-winning provider of creative, print, online, data management and mailing services is presently looking to appoint a self-motivated and ambitious business development manager.

    The Position:

    Based from our client’s Leeds office but a predominantly external role meeting and winning new clients across  Yorkshire and the wider UK, the main scope of the role will be to identify new business opportunities through networking, social media communications and business marketing initiatives and convert these prospects to clients in order to meet a sales target.  This will principally involve:

    • Sourcing new business through prospecting, client management and engagement
    • Developing key client accounts through ongoing relationship management and value added solutions
    • Introducing new services, products and initiatives to clients and pitching for the business
    • Achieving sales results through high-level business planning, networking and referral opportunities
    • Working within vertical market environments to build client portfolios for future business targets
    • Engaging in event management / social activities to build on relations and company PR
    • Working at SLA client levels and engaging with all stakeholders to meet business targets
    • Keeping up to date on new trends and products/services within the industry
    • Project management, budgeting and forecasting
    • Reporting on business performance, activity and results as part of weekly, monthly and annual KPI measures

    The Candidate:

    This is an outstanding and extremely diverse opportunity that represents fantastic earning potential and massive scope for genuine career progression if you are able to demonstrate:

    • A minimum of 18 months’ new business sales success in print, mailing, data management, creative, branding, web development or related marketing communications
    • Some knowledge (or previous exposure to) large format, digital and/or litho printing
    • Experience of pitching to and closing clients both over the telephone and face to face
    • A passion for learning and keeping abreast of industry trends and the latest technologies
    • The ability to assess and manage priorities across multiple concurrent projects
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and networking skills
    • Strong attention to detail, analytical and planning skills
    • Good interpersonal skills to achieve objectives both autonomously and within the wider team
    • The ability to work under pressure to ensure that results are achieved within agreed timeframes
    • Assertive decision-making skills to escalate appropriately
    • The personal confidence to liaise with clients on budgets, initiatives, solutions and communication routes
    • Effective project and/or event management skills
    • A strong understanding of creative design, print management and/or related marketing solutions
    • Competence in the use of Microsoft technology and, ideally, Management Information Systems
    • The self-motivation and desire to succeed, grow and ultimately advance within the business
