The appointed Business Development Manager will be tasked with generating new business for mine planning, scheduling and resource modeling solutions.

The Position:

Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will work both independently and with the technical sales team to generate new leads, provide technical demonstrations and close sales.  This will require you to take an active role in lead generation, promotion of the company’s solutions and pipeline management to ensure budget objectives are met. The primary region of focus will be the Middle East, North Africa and West Africa, but with further opportunity to work in Scandinavia, Eastern and Western Europe.  Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing clients and prospects with the highest level of service and support, with a view to gaining and retaining their business
  • Developing growth strategies, lead generation plans and business development campaigns to build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities
  • Controlling the sales process from lead generation through to close
  • Coordinating with technical sales staff to deliver technical presentations and trials
  • Representing the company at exhibitions and conferences
  • Communication of technical feedback for product development

The Candidate:

Applicants will be expected to demonstrate:

  • A minimum bachelor’s degree, ideally in a mining related discipline such as geology, engineering or surveying
  • Knowledge of mining operational environments particularly open pit operations
  • An understanding of complex sales processes involving multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent presentation, communication and organizational skills
  • A proactive mindset, ability to handle uncertainty and autonomy to work effectively with minimal guidance
  • A willingness to travel (50% of the time) both nationally and internationally
  • Great initiative and result focus
  • Excellent speaking, writing, and reading comprehension skills in the English language
