Associate Structural Engineer

    This is a fantastic long-term career opportunity with a dynamic and skilled team offering realistic scope to rapidly progress to Regional Director.

    The Position:

    The successful candidate will produce detailed structural engineering designs for residential and commercial projects, key responsibilities being to:

    • Prepare structural calculations, specifications, reports and general correspondence
    • Produce construction drawings using CAD
    • Brief and supervise CAD Technicians
    • Liaise and communicate with external professionals and clients
    • Carry out site inspections and surveys
    • Work within agreed resource, budgetary and time constraints

    The Candidate:

    Applicants will be expected to demonstrate:

    • Relevant experience (10 years +) and degree (HND/C considered) in an appropriate built environment discipline
    • Membership (or working towards) of the Institution of Civil Engineers or Institution of Structural Engineers
    • The ability to design in structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber
    • An understanding of civil engineering concepts (drainage, roads, transport, bridges etc)
    • Familiarity with software including Fastrak Building Designer, TEDDS, CSC Structural Office and RCC Spread Sheets
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • The ability to manage own workload within agreed time scales
    • (Ideally) SER registration (or willingness to apply for)
