Associate

The appointed Private Equity Associate will focus on all aspects of our client’s investment activities, including sourcing, maintaining, and exiting an investment position. 

Responsibilities:

• Financial accounting and modelling across multiple opportunities/portfolios
• Interacting with senior leadership including the portfolio companies, Board of Director members and other key external relationships
• Assisting with the management and monitoring of portfolio companies, including helping to develop and implement strategies to increase revenue, improve operations, and strengthen financial controls
• Recognizing underlying problems, interpreting trends and condensing large amounts of information into logical, thoughtful, and concise solutions
• Analysis and execution of investment opportunities, including leading due diligence and underwriting processes, financial modelling, and preparation of investment memorandums
• Preparation of term sheets, letters of intent and transaction review documents
• Quarterly and annual portfolio financial and valuation summaries
• Travel for new investments and portfolio company projects as needed

Requirements:

• Strong undergraduate academic record (with a preference for finance or accounting degrees)
• 2 to 4 years’ experience in private equity, investment banking, or leveraged finance
• Prior experience in transaction execution
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• General knowledge of corporate finance concepts such as valuation and risk / return dynamics
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• The ability to manage multiple concurrent work streams as part of larger transactions or strategic projects
• Professional maturity, high levels of integrity, and accountability
• A passion for learning new things and a natural intellectual curiosity
• A high sense of urgency and the self-discipline to follow things through to completion
