    Having featured in the list of 50 fastest growing businesses in the Northeast of England for the past three years, our client is presently seeking a proven technical sales professional to develop market share across the North of England and Scotland.

    The Position:

    Reporting to the UK & European Sales Manager, this position is predominantly home based and will involve spending a significant proportion of the time visiting customers and monthly visits to the company’s head office in the Northeast.  The appointed Technical sales Engineer will assume responsibility for:

    • Promoting a range of seals and sealing gaskets to customers in the oil & gas, mass transit, aerospace & defence, renewables and chemical processing industries
    • Managing key and strategic accounts, ensuring the highest possible levels of customer service are maintained and developing these accounts to their optimum revenue potential
    • Ensuring that customer concerns are dealt with quickly and efficiently
    • Identifying new business opportunities within the guidelines of the strategic plan
    • Ensuring that all new accounts and business opportunities are fully evaluated and that each new enquiry has sufficient technical and commercial detail to allow a complete quotation to be established
    • Delivering quotations on new business items, ensuring that the full customer requirement is being addressed and that no opportunity is lost due to an insufficient, inappropriate or incomplete quotation
    • Ensuring that the ethical and professional reputation of the company is maintained at all times and that no account is compromised by or compromises the sales and commercial activity

    The Candidate:

    Applicants will be expected to demonstrate:

    • A minimum of two years’ experience in a field based sales position within sealing technologies
    • A track record of achieving KPI, revenue and margin targets
    • (Ideally) a bachelors degree of HND qualification in mechanical engineering, polymer science, materials science, metallurgy or related
    • Previous experience of the oil & gas, mass transit, aerospace & defence, renewables and/or chemical processing industries
    • (Ideally) knowledge of ATEX directives within the above mentioned sectors
    • Professional presentation skills and smart appearance
    • Excellent negotiation and closing skills
    • A full UK driving Licence
    • Hands on ability to resolve customer service issues relating to operational issues and conflicts
    • Clear and effective communication ability, both written and spoken, at all levels within the business and externally to all major customers and stake holders when required
