    A proven strategic sales leader is currently required for an established industrial distribution business with ambitious growth plans.

    The Position:

    The appointed Regional Sales Manager will assume responsibility for one of our client’s highest revenue territories, from the West Midlands up to Greater Manchester.  Directly managing a team of three Divisional Sales Managers and their 25 Area Sales Managers, the role will consist of:

    • Engaging, motivating and getting the best from team members with authentic leadership, coaching and development skills
    • Implementing a sales strategy to deliver budgeted sales and margin targets
    • Developing improved working practices to maximise performance and employee engagement
    • Ensuring that KPIs are achieved and gathering/analysing sales data to shape focus and deliver on targets
    • Maximising new business development opportunities and developing strong and long lasting business relationships
    • Ensuring that a distinctive customer experience is at the forefront of all business interactions

    The Candidate:

    Applicants will be expected to demonstrate:

    • Proven sales leadership experience in a B2B environment, ideally industrial supplies distribution
    • A track record of both team and account development
    • Previous experience of managing a region generating similar revenue (c£45m)
    • Autonomy, strategic thinking and initiative to drive change
    • The interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence to understand, empathise, motivate and inspire a team
    • Previous experience of managing managers
    • A proven background of exceeding goals and revenue expectations
    • Experience of planning and implementing a sales strategy through a sales team
    • The ability to analyse and manipulate sales data
    • Good budget and report writing skills
