    A medium sized design and build contractor currently has a pressing requirement for an experienced QS with experience of residential and mixed use developments.

    The Position:

    Based from our client’s premises in Cheshire but involving a good deal or travel to sites across the region, the appointed Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for:

    • Managing projects typically valuing in the region of £3 million
    • Preparation of budgets and tenders
    • Checking contractual documentation
    • Procuring required sub-contractors and materials
    • Ensuring that payments to sub-contractors are made in a timely manner
    • Producing monthly cost and value statements, reconciliations and forecasts
    • Preparing, submitting and agreeing the final account for individual contract/contracts
    • Ensuring that all necessary financial systems and procedures are in place at commencement of each contract

    The Candidate:

    The successful candidate will be a high calibre individual who can display:

    • Proven experience in residential and mixed use projects
    • A minimum of four years’ post-qualifying experience
    • Strong familiarity with design & build works, regeneration, refurb and fit out
    • Knowledge of both JCT and NEC contracts
    • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
    • The ability to work well in a collaborative team environment
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • The ability to multi-task and prioritise workload in order to achieve deadlines
